Marieta Garcia-Bajo is an experienced geologist with over 20 years in geological modelling and programme management. Currently serving as the Challenge Programme Manager for Geological Multi-Hazards and Resilience at the British Geological Survey since January 1999, Marieta oversees programme delivery, budget management, and staff workflows while collaborating with the Chief Scientist to shape the scientific strategy. Prior to this role, Marieta worked as a Senior Geological Modeller, leading significant projects such as 3D modelling of superficial deposits and flood indicators. Marieta's career began at Andean Silver Ltd as an Exploration Geologist, where responsibilities included re-compiling geological data and developing exploration drilling databases. Marieta holds a degree in Geology from Universidad de Oviedo, completed in 1997.
