Deputy Director UK Critical Minerals Intelligence Centre at British Geological Survey

Pierre Josso is a Minerals Geoscientist at the British Geological Survey since February 2017, contributing to the MarineE-Tech project under the NERC SoS Mineral program, where investigations focus on critical metals in ferromanganese crusts. Previously, Pierre Josso served as a PhD Student at the National Oceanography Centre, studying the recovery potential of rare earth elements and critical metals in Cyprus, and held roles as a demonstrator in petrology and fieldwork. Earlier experience includes conducting research on oceanic ferromanganese mineralization while completing a master's thesis at IFREMER, and applying GIS mapping tools for quarry plan revisions at BRGM. Educational credentials include a PhD in Geochemistry from the University of Southampton, a Master’s in Mining Geosciences from Laurentian University, and an engineering degree in Geological Sciences from Institut Polytechnique Lasalle Beauvais.
