Alex Choy

Alex Choy is an accomplished Control Engineer currently at British Gypsum since October 2023. Previously, Alex served as Senior Engineering Manager at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from July 2008 to September 2023 and held engineering roles at the Service Robotic Lab, City University of Hong Kong, from January 2005 to June 2008 and at CIDAM Research Centre from September 2000 to September 2004. Alex's experience includes leading project proposals and feasibility studies, drafting system specifications, and engaging in industrial R&D, particularly in developing low-cost robotic arms and home automation projects. Prior experience also includes a managerial role in the Automation Department at Dongguan Penc Chemicals Machinery Co., Ltd. Alex holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer System Engineering from the University of Warwick, a Doctor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a Master of Science in Electronics Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a Master of Philosophy in Computer Science from Hong Kong Baptist University.
