Marcus Pollard

Marcus Pollard, PhD, is an experienced Process Engineer currently working at British Gypsum since July 2023. Prior to this role, Marcus served as Head of Manufacturing at Figura Analytics Limited from March 2021 to August 2023. Marcus completed a PhD at Loughborough University from September 2016 to February 2021, focusing on the design and development of a multifunctional fluidic sensor platform for particle and cellular characterization. During the PhD, Marcus gained expertise in microfluidic electrochemical device creation, utilizing 3D printing technologies for detecting microplastics and biological contaminants. Marcus holds a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Chemistry from Loughborough University, during which a placement year at Reckitt Benckiser contributed to skills in project management and formulation development. Prior experience includes a role as Online Shopping Assistant at Sainsbury's, where customer service skills were developed, and as a Placement Student in Health Innovation at RB, involved in formulation and analytical development for various brands.
