James Caws

James Caws is an experienced automation and continuous improvement professional with a strong background in engineering and operational management within the sugar industry. Currently serving as an Automation Development Engineer at British Sugar since September 2012, James has taken a leading role in control philosophy development and has championed Industry 4 initiatives. Previous positions at British Sugar include Continuous Improvement Manager, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Shift Performance Manager, and Graduate Shift Operations Manager, all of which contributed to significant performance enhancements across various manufacturing processes. An early career at GlaxoSmithKline as a Summer Placement Student and a Chemical Engineering Industrial Placement at British Sugar further solidified James's foundation in engineering principles. James holds an MEng (1st) degree in Chemical & Process Engineering from the University of Surrey.
