James Houghton

James Houghton is an experienced leader in safeguarding and adolescent services, currently serving as the Founder & CEO of Future Voices since December 2020, where the focus is on addressing adolescent extra-familial harm. In parallel roles, James serves as the Safeguarding Operational Lead for the British Transport Police, ensuring protection against child exploitation across the UK, and as Principal Consultant for Gloucestershire County Council, conducting a comprehensive review of safeguarding partnerships. Additional positions include Strategic Lead for Adolescent and Family Help Transformation at Surrey County Council, and Consultant Project Lead at Portsmouth City Council, among others. With a solid educational background in social work, risk management, and systemic leadership, James has a demonstrated commitment to improving multi-agency responses to risks affecting children and adolescents.
