Tom Whittaker

Performance Director at British Weight Lifting

Tom Whittaker is a highly experienced sports performance professional currently serving as Performance Director and Performance Manager for British Weight Lifting since March 2013. In these roles, Tom leads the BWL Powerlifting team to success, achieving multiple European, Asian, American titles, a world senior title, and two Paralympic medals at Rio 2016. Additionally, Tom works as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for British Diving and the English Institute of Sport, focusing on the physical development of Olympic divers and contributing to the training of GB Olympic weightlifters and Paralympic Powerlifters. Previous roles include Performance Support Officer at the English Institute of Sport, Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach at Huddersfield Giants RLFC, and Strength and Conditioning Coach at Leeds Metropolitan University. Tom's academic credentials include an MSc in Exercise Physiology from Leeds Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Sports and Exercise Science from Leeds Beckett University.
