Harold Hampton

Vice President of Technology and Business Intelligence at Broad River Retail

Harold Hampton has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Harold started their career at The Wichita Eagle in 1983, where they worked in IT until 1991. Harold then moved on to The St. Paul Pioneer Press, where they held the positions of VP Technology and later VP Operations from 1996 to 2001. During this time, they managed the technology operations and also took on responsibilities in the manufacturing process.

In 2001, Hampton joined The Charlotte Observer as VP Operations, overseeing manufacturing, distribution, operations, and facilities in addition to their technology duties. Harold was later promoted to VP CIO, with responsibilities for managing the newspaper's technology infrastructure and systems. After leaving The Charlotte Observer in 2006, Hampton joined RolloverSystems as the Senior VP of Operations & Technology. Here, they managed the development and maintenance of a web-based application and customer portal for 401(k) rollovers and led efforts to become a registered broker-dealer.

In 2007, Hampton founded Hampton Ventures, Inc., where they served as Owner and President, providing executive consulting services to media companies and guiding their transition to a digital existence. Harold represented the newspaper consortium's relationship with Yahoo and assisted in the deployment of the APT ad serving platform.

Hampton's entrepreneurial spirit continued in 2009 when they co-founded MA Metrix, followed by OS4Media, LLC in 2012. At MA Metrix and later OS4Media, they served as Co-owner and Managing Partner, overseeing data analytics and technology migration services for digital publishers.

In 2014, Hampton joined Bedrock Business Media as a Product and Project Manager, before joining Broad River Furniture d/b/a Ashley HomeStore in 2015. At Broad River Furniture, they started as an Executive IT Consultant, then progressed to the role of Senior Director, IT and Business Intelligence, and ultimately became the Vice President of Technology and Business Intelligence in 2017, where they are currently positioned.
