Yi-Kuei Wu

Yi-Kuei (Ryan) Wu is a seasoned photonic engineer with extensive experience in various high-profile technology companies. Currently serving as a Principal Photonic Engineer at Broadcom since July 2025, Yi-Kuei previously worked at X, the moonshot factory, from August 2021 to July 2025 as a Staff Photonics Engineer, where responsibilities included project management and photonic technology leadership. Prior roles encompass serving as a Senior Photonics Device Scientist at Apple and a Senior PIC Design Engineer at NeoPhotonics, alongside significant contributions as a Senior Optical Engineer at Seagate Technology, focusing on advanced optical designs and modeling. Yi-Kuei earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and holds advanced degrees in optoelectronics and electrical engineering from National Taiwan University. Key skills include expertise in various software such as COMSOL and FDTD, and a strong foundation in photonic integrated circuits and optical design.
