Brockport Research Institute
Peter Kalenda, Ed.D., serves as an Assistant Professor at SUNY Geneseo since June 2023, bringing a rich background in education and science instruction. As an instructor for scuba, freediving, and mermaid programs at RU4SCUBA since July 2021, Peter also contributes to the Brockport Research Institute as a grant writer, evaluator, and professional learning provider since October 2015. Previously, Peter was a lecturer and assistant professor of education at SUNY Brockport from August 2016 to June 2023, with a focus on childhood science education, and served as an instructional coach and secondary science teacher in the Rochester City School District from September 2006 to June 2016. Additional experience includes facilitating exhibit redesigns at the Seneca Park Zoo Society from March 2013 to May 2015. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Teaching and Curriculum from the University of Rochester, along with various graduate-level certifications in educational leadership and program evaluation.

External evaluation experience with NSF and NYS Department of Education, including Math-Science Partnership grants. Over 80 million in successful proposals written for National Science Foundation, US Department of Education, US Environmental Protection Agency, NYSERDA and NYS Department of Education plus private and corporate foundations. Professional Learning services provided to clients across New York State both virtually and in-person on all the most pressing topics and innovative strategies. *Some services to NYS school districts are BOCES-aidable.
