Matt Fitzwater

Matt Fitzwater is an accomplished Executive Director with extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly within the YMCA organization. Since November 2020, Matt has served as Executive Director at Brookdale, focusing on strategic improvement and operational management. Prior experience includes over nine years as Executive Director for the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, where responsibilities encompassed managing operations, budgeting, fundraising, and staff development across multiple facilities. Earlier roles include Director of Operations at the Keith Family YMCA and Senior Program Director at the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina, where leadership emphasized program development, membership growth, and operational management. Matt holds a Master's degree in Public Affairs and Nonprofit Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University.
