Johanna Paredes

Johanna Paredes is an experienced educator and dance instructor with a diverse background in teaching and community engagement. Currently serving as a Dance Teacher at Brooke East Boston since August 2022, Johanna has developed a curriculum for K-8 scholars and organized events that celebrate diverse identities. With previous roles at Brooke Charter Schools since January 2019 as an Elementary School Teacher and K-2 English Second Language Coordinator, along with maternity coverage as an ELL Coordinator at McLean Hospital, Johanna has worked with students from kindergarten to seventh grade. Additional experiences include working as a Mental Health Specialist, facilitating activities as a Summer Associate at Steve & Kate's Camp, and serving as a Resident Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. A Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Afro-American Studies was earned at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and earlier experience includes teaching dance at MetaMovements Dance Company, emphasizing community connection and social change through the arts.
