David Salbego

David comes to Brookhaven from Argonne National Laboratory, where he’s served as department head, IT Infrastructure & Operations, since 2010. As department head, David led an organization with over 50 employees, eight managers, and on-site and offsite contractors with a total annual operating budget of more than $23 million. Among other accomplishments, David orchestrated the integration of multiple disciplines into one department, including networking, communications, endpoints, cloud services, and IT outreach. He also successfully led the modernization, consolidation, and adoption of multiple IT services across Lab environment and positioned the division as an IT and business leader, enabler, and partner, earning key long-term financial investments and funding streams for the lab.

David brings 30 years of diverse experience in the IT space to this new role. From 2001-2010, he was UNIX storage and operations manager at Argonne. Prior to that, he worked as a senior infrastructure consultant for Tallan, Inc., and a senior UNIX administrator and scientific programmer at Argonne.
