Melissa Deri

Melissa Deri currently serves as an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Lehman College, a position held since December 2015, where research focuses on chemical education, particularly the effectiveness of the "flipped classroom" approach in teaching introductory chemistry. In addition, Melissa is the Site Director for the Nuclear & Radiochemistry Summer School at Brookhaven National Laboratory since April 2021. Prior experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant role at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, involvement in graduate studies on synthetic organic and radiochemistry at Hunter College, and serving as a teaching assistant at both Brookhaven National Laboratory and New York University. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Radiochemistry from Hunter College, an MS in Bioorganic Chemistry from New York University, and a BA in Chemistry from the same institution.
