Sha Tan is an accomplished chemist with extensive experience in battery electrolyte research and development. Currently serving as an Assistant Chemist and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory since October 2019, Sha specializes in lithium-ion batteries, lithium metal batteries, and solid-state electrolytes, employing advanced characterization techniques. Prior to this role, Sha was a Guest Graduate Research Assistant focusing on electrolyte optimization for battery applications. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Stony Brook University from August 2017 to August 2022, Sha engaged in material synthesis and contributed to the design and characterization of battery electrolytes, while also teaching General Chemistry Laboratory courses. Sha holds a PhD in Chemistry from Stony Brook University and a BS in Chemistry from Chongqing University.
