Tomoyasu Mani is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in the field of biochemistry and molecular biophysics. Currently serving as Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut since August 2016 and holding a Joint Appointment as Chemist at Brookhaven National Laboratory since September 2021, Tomoyasu has a strong background in research, having previously held positions such as PRESTO Researcher at the Japan Science and Technology Agency and Goldhaber Fellow at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Tomoyasu completed a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2013 and earned a BS in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2009. Notable early research experience includes a summer undergraduate research fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern, focusing on the functionality of newly synthesized MRI contrast agents.
