Ede Ijjasz-Vásquez serves as a Non-resident Senior Fellow at the Africa Growth Initiative of The Brookings Institution and holds advisory roles at the Global Center on Adaptation and the Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance. Additionally, Ede Ijjasz-Vásquez is a Guest Lecturer at the National University of Singapore, focusing on urban governance in the Liveable Cities course. Previously, a long tenure at The World Bank included positions such as Regional Director for Sustainable Development in the Africa Region and Senior Director for Global Social, Urban, Rural, and Resilience initiatives. Ede Ijjasz-Vásquez earned a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia.
