Michael Hansen

Michael Hansen is a Senior Fellow at the Brown Center on Education Policy at The Brookings Institution, having held various leadership roles since September 2015, including Director and Deputy Director. Prior to this, Michael worked as a Principal Researcher and Senior Researcher at the American Institutes for Research from July 2011 to September 2015, and as a Research Associate at The Urban Institute from September 2009 to July 2011. Michael began his career as a Research Assistant at the Center on Reinventing Public Education between January 2006 and August 2009. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Economics from Brigham Young University.
