Ted Piccone

Ted Piccone is a nonresident senior fellow specializing in foreign policy at The Brookings Institution, with a career spanning over two decades in various roles, including senior fellow and acting director of foreign policy. Piccone has served as an advisor to the Club de Madrid since 2005 and was the chief engagement officer and senior advisor for the World Justice Project from 2019 to 2023, focusing on the promotion of rule of law and justice globally. Previous positions include executive director of the Democracy Coalition Project and associate director at the State Department’s Policy Planning, as well as director of Inter-American Affairs at the National Security Council. Piccone's educational background includes a JD in international law and human rights from Columbia Law School and a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
