Adrian Benepe

Adrian Benepe currently serves as the President & CEO of Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a position held since October 2020. Prior to this role, Adrian was the Senior Vice President and Director of National Programs at The Trust for Public Land from September 2012 to October 2020, overseeing various initiatives including the 10-Minute Walk to a Park campaign. Adrian's extensive experience includes serving as Commissioner and Manhattan Borough Commissioner at the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, as well as leadership roles at The Municipal Art Society of New York, The New York Botanical Garden, and various positions within the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation. Adrian began a career in journalism as a reporter for Hudson Dispatch and worked as an Urban Park Ranger earlier in the career. Adrian holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Middlebury College.
