Julia Coppelman

Julia Coppelman is a practiced attorney currently serving as a Staff Attorney at Brooklyn Defender Services since October 2020, and previously interned in both the Criminal Defense Practice and Exploitation Intervention Project during 2018 and 2019. Prior to these roles, Julia served as a Senior Legal Assistant at Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP for three years, managing civil rights litigation cases including significant class action lawsuits. Julia also has prior experience in fundraising and conference planning through internships at Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood of Illinois, as well as consulting work for Heartland Alliance. Julia holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Yale Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Legal Studies from Northwestern University.
