Lara Birnback

Lara Birnback serves as the Executive Director at Brooklyn Heights Association Inc. since July 2019. Previously, Lara held various roles at the NYC Department of Small Business Services from March 2016 to June 2019, including Director of Capacity Building Initiatives and Program Manager for the Business Preparedness and Resiliency Program. Lara's experience extends to several communications consultancy roles with organizations such as Poses Family Foundation and Chemonics International, where responsibilities included delivering strategic communication initiatives and overseeing international projects. Earlier career highlights include significant contributions to Public Agenda from July 2006 to June 2011, focusing on fundraising strategies and managing citizen engagement projects. Lara holds a Master's degree in International Relations and Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
