Brooklyn Museum
Pauline Vermare currently serves as the Phillip and Edith Leonian Curator of Photography at the Brooklyn Museum since April 2024. Prior to this role, Pauline worked independently as a photography historian, curator, and writer from July 2017 to April 2024. Experience includes serving as Cultural Director at Magnum Photos from September 2017 to September 2021 and at the International Center of Photography in various curatorial positions from May 2010 to June 2017. Previous roles include Project Curatorial Assistant at The Museum of Modern Art, Communications and Exhibitions Manager at Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson, and assistant positions at both Magnum Photos and Politique Internationale. Educational qualifications include a PhD in History of Photography from Université Lumière Lyon 2, a Master of Arts in Art History from Sorbonne University, and a Master's in International Relations from Sciences Po, among others.
