Carl Wittenauer

Director of Grounds at BROOKSIDE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB CO

Carl grew up in the Youngstown, OH area and began working on a golf course at age 15. After spending two years at Youngstown State University, Carl transferred to The Ohio State University to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy. Carl began working at Brookside in the Spring of 1984 while in school and the rest they say is "history." Upon graduation, he was promoted to Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and 3 months later look over as the Head Golf Course Superintendent in May of 1987. Carl achieved his Certification status from the Golf Course Superintendent Association in 1996 by completing a set standard of education requirements and testing. He has managed numerous projects both on and off the golf course and continues to keep Brookside as one of the best-conditioned golf courses in Central Ohio. Carl currently serves as the President of the Central Ohio Golf Course Superintendent Association.
