Kira Clarke has a diverse work experience in the field of research and education. From 2004 to 2005, they worked as a Professional Practice Administrator at RMIT University. From 2005 to 2009, they served as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Post-compulsory Education and Lifelong Learning, University of Melbourne. From 2010 to 2019, they held the role of Research Fellow & Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, where they conducted research on vocational education for young people and VET in Schools. During this time, they also collaborated with the Brotherhood of St Laurence on various projects. In 2020, they became a Senior Research Fellow (Youth) at the Brotherhood of St Laurence, and in 2023, they transitioned to the role of Principal Research Fellow - Skills & Training. Additionally, in 2022, they were appointed as the President of The Australian Vocational Education and Training Research Association (AVETRA) for a two-year term (2022-2024).
Kira Clarke attained their Victorian Certificate of Education at Balwyn High School from 1995 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Political Science and History at Monash University, graduating in 2003. Later, in 2007 and 2008, they attended the University of Melbourne, where they obtained a Master of Education Policy (International) degree.
