Olivia Wigzell

Olivia Wigzell serves as the General Director at Folkhälsomyndigheten since August 2024, concurrently holding positions as a Member of the Standing Committee for WHO Europe and Chair of the University Board at Malmö University. With a robust background in public health governance, Olivia has been a member of the Advisory Board for the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency since March 2016, and participated in various leadership roles, including Chair of the Council for State Governance with Knowledge since October 2015 and Director General at Socialstyrelsen until August 2024. Previous responsibilities include chairing the Health Committee at OECD from November 2016 to March 2020 and leading the inquiry into elderly care legislation for the Swedish government from December 2020 to July 2022. Olivia holds educational qualifications from both Stockholm University and Uppsala University.
