Denise Rusnak is a Program Officer at Broward Children's Center. Denise has dedicated their career to helping those with developmental disabilities, and has worked extensively in both public schools and community agencies.
Denise began their career in 1985 as a Program Specialist with the Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System. In this role, they delivered professional development on current trends, issues, instructional strategies and policies for exceptional student education teachers, parents and community agencies.
In 1995, Denise joined Broward County Public Schools as a Curriculum Supervisor for Intellectual Disabilities. In this role, they coordinated and evaluated the implementation of training and support for inclusive education of students with developmental disabilities. Denise also developed a process for monitoring students' placements in the least restrictive environment.
After nine years with Broward County Public Schools, Denise joined Broward Children's Center, where they have served as a Program Officer for the past fifteen years. In this role, Denise has continued their work supporting students with developmental disabilities and their families.
Denise Rusnak has a Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Special Education and Teaching from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
