Murali Balan

Murali Balan, P.E., currently serves as a Senior Principal Structural Engineer at Brown and Caldwell since April 2023. With extensive experience in structural engineering, Murali previously held the role of Senior Structural Engineer at Tetra Tech from June 2020 to April 2023, where responsibilities included designing structures for semiconductor manufacturing, wastewater treatment plants, and fish facilities. Prior positions include Structural Engineer at Jacobs, SMG Engineers, Inc., McMillen Jacobs Associates, Black & Veatch, Thornton Tomasetti, and Posten Systems Pvt. Ltd., encompassing a wide range of projects involving multi-story steel and concrete structures, industrial facility design, fish passage systems, and water and wastewater facilities. Murali holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai University.
