As a Partner of the firm, Rick Witmer helps select talented investment boutiques that manage a significant portion of BBH’s client assets.

Rick joined Brown Brothers Harriman in 1976 and became Partner in 1988. He helped focus, strengthen and grow the firm’s Private Banking and Investment Management businesses and held a number of roles, including portfolio manager of various public equity products and Head of Investment Management.

Rick invests in and works alongside selected software businesses and education nonprofits run by exceptional founder/CEOs. He chairs the board of Springboard Collaborative, a nonprofit that aims to close the literacy gap by closing the gap between families and teachers. Rick is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Brown University and received an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
