Amy Steinfeld has worked as a Natural Resources and Water Law Shareholder at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck since 2005. Amy has served as counsel to cannabis cultivators in Santa Barbara County and across the Central Coast, achieving a compromise that exempts most hoops on actively cultivated land from prohibitive land use and building codes.
Before joining Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, Amy worked as a Natural Resources and Water Law Attorney at Hatch & Parent from September 2005 to December 2007.
Prior to attending law school, Amy gained valuable experience in the environmental field as an Environmental/Social Compliance Auditor at CSCC from September 2000 to June 2002. In this role, they conducted social and environmental audits of factories for large manufacturing companies in 37 countries and developed an environmental audit tool and forestry chain of custody audit.
Amy Steinfeld attended University High School in Irvine. Amy then went on to study at UCLA from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Environmental Studies. Amy continued their education at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2002 to 2005, earning a Doctor of Law (JD) degree in Water Law. Additionally, during this time, they also studied at the University of Colorado from 2003 to 2005, focusing on Natural Resources in the field of study.
