Brenda Lugo

Brenda Lugo, PhD, currently serves as the Human Resources Coordinator for the Brownsville Independent School District, a position held since June 2021. Previously, Brenda held several roles within the same district, including Assistant Principal at Vela Middle School and Dean of Instruction for both Aiken Elementary and Vela Middle School. Brenda's career in education began as a Middle School Social Studies Teacher at the Brownsville Independent School District and Killeen ISD. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University, a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from The University of Texas-Pan American, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Police Science from the University of Texas at Brownsville.
