James Pray is Of Counsel at BrownWinick, where they chair the Environmental Practice Group and previously chaired the Energy Practice Group. With extensive experience in both consulting and litigation, James focuses on complex environmental and energy matters, having litigated significant cases in Iowa's courts. Their practice encompasses environmental investigations, contract negotiations, and renewable energy projects, contributing to the development of nearly two dozen wind projects and major solar initiatives in Iowa. James has been recognized in Super Lawyers® and Best Lawyers® and received the Best Lawyers’ Lawyer of the Year award in 2013 and 2017 for Environmental Law. They earned a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law and a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
