Bill Caprio has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Bill started their career as an Air Defense Officer in the US Army from 1988 to 1991. Following that, they worked at Bausch + Lomb as a Manager of New Product Development and Operations, where they successfully managed 15 new product launches and implemented a comprehensive new product development process.
In 2000, Caprio joined Smith & Nephew, a global medical technology company, where they held various leadership positions, including Vice President of Global Operations, Vice President of New Product Development, and Vice President of North America Operations. During their tenure, they drove increased shareholder value and oversaw a global team managing $200M in spend across more than 50 vendors in 15 countries.
In 2016, Caprio established their own consulting firm called BIBEC Medical Device Consulting. As the President, they assisted start-up medical device companies in launching their initial products, worked with private equity companies in the wound care and medical device industry, and helped companies improve their new product development process and manufacturing efficiency.
Most recently, Caprio joined Bruin Biometrics, LLC as the Executive Vice President of Operations and Vice President of New Product Development.
Bill Caprio completed a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1988. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Operations/Finance from the University of Rochester - Simon Business School, which they completed in 1997.
