Alex Zhang is an accomplished individual currently serving as an Incoming Investment Banking Summer Analyst at J.P. Morgan, set to begin in March 2024. Zhang has extensive experience in the finance sector, including positions as Director of Member Development and Analyst at Bruin Hedge Fund since October 2022, and as a Sharpe Fellow with the UCLA Alumni Association. Previous internships include roles as a Public Finance Intern at Stifel Financial Corp., an Investment Banking Intern at Montminy & Co., and a Financial Analyst Intern at Gideon Strategic Partners. In addition, Zhang has contributed as a Research Assistant at UCLA, supporting faculty research. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from UCLA, expected in June 2026, and a High School Diploma from Cheyenne Mountain High School, completed in May 2022.

Bruin Hedge Fund (BHF), UCLA’s principal investment and finance organization, prepares its members for careers in finance through its dedicated real-money investment fund diversified across a variety of industries. BHF focuses on augmenting short-run hedging with long market positions and aims to educate recruits on the ways in which various asset choices influence a portfolio. BHF offers its members investment presentations, case studies, mentorship, networking and other professional development opportunities. From the technical aspects of financial modeling to the soft-skills required for a career in financial services, BHF provides members the opportunity to develop skills necessary for a career on Wall Street. Every year members go on to work in industries such as investment banking, consulting, private equity, and quantitative trading at firms such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Evercore, Credit Suisse, McKinsey, Bain, Oaktree, Citadel and more. BHF boasts internship and full-time pipelines to these firms across Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and internationally.
