Chief Utility Plant Operator at Brunswick County

Kenny Revels has extensive work experience in various roles related to utility management and enforcement. Kenny started their career as a Police Officer at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in 2012 and later worked as a Public Safety Officer at Wilmington International Airport until 2014. Kenny then transitioned into a role as a Plant Operator at Brunswick County from 2014 to 2017 before becoming a Plant Manager at VILLAGE OF BALD HEAD ISLAND for a brief period. After that, they worked as a Code Enforcement Officer at Town of Oak Island and a Waste Water Treatment Operator at Pender county government. In 2019, they joined Cape Fear Public Utility Authority as a Water Control Operator until early 2021. Following that, they briefly served as an Operator in Responsible Charge at Brunswick Regional Water & Sewer H2GO before assuming their current position as the Chief Utility Plant Operator at Brunswick County. In addition to their utility experience, Kenny also has experience as a Journeyman Welder in the US Air Force Reserve.

Kenny Revels began their education in 2004 at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, General. Kenny attended the university until 2007. Following this, in 2016, Kenny enrolled in the Community College of the Air Force and completed an Associate of Science degree in Avionics Maintenance Technology/Technician in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Kenny has obtained several certifications. In 2014, they received a certification in Metals Technology from the United States Air Force. In 2019, they obtained certifications as an A-Well Operator and a Physical/Chemical Industrial Waste Operator - Class I from the NCDEQ. In 2020, they obtained the certification of Distribution Operator - Class C from the same institution. More recently, in 2022, Kenny earned the B-Surface Operator certification, and in 2023, they obtained the Wastewater Treatment Operator - Class IV - OIT certification from the NCDEQ.
