Mark started their career in 1984 as the director of programming and marketing at Learfield Communications. Mark then spent 12 years at Fina Oil and Chemical Company, where they rose to the position of general manager of public relations and advertising.

In 1996, they joined Enron as managing director of corporate communications. Mark left Enron in 2004 and joined Public Strategies, Inc. as managing director and practice group leader. Mark Palmer has a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
