Chris Dekker is vice president, general counsel, and chief compliance officer for Brunswick Corporation. He leads the team providing legal services to the Brunswick enterprise, and is also responsible for the corporate ethics program, corporate compliance function and environmental, health and safety programs. In 2021, Chris undertook leadership of Brunswick’s Enterprise Sustainability Council, which provides oversight and coordination of the company’s environmental, social and governance initiatives.
Chris also serves as the corporate secretary and works with the company’s board of directors and management regarding securities and governance matters. He was appointed to the position in October 2014 and joined Brunswick in 2010 as associate general counsel responsible for litigation, employment, and compliance.
Before joining Brunswick, Chris was employed in the law department at Caterpillar Inc. beginning in 2001 and served in a variety of positions. Before joining Caterpillar, he was a partner at the Chicago law firm now known as Dykema Gossett.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan and his Doctor of Laws from DePaul University of College of Law.
