John Applegate

John Applegate is a highly experienced technical specialist and systems engineer with a diverse background spanning several companies and roles. Currently serving as a Technical Specialist and Scheme Manager at BSI since January 2017, John provides technical assessments of manufacturer AIMD design dossiers to ensure compliance with EU directives and harmonized standards. Prior experience includes significant contributions at LivaNova as a systems engineering lead, overseeing technical trade studies and coordinating development teams. John has held leadership and engineering roles at Boston Scientific, Secure Computing, Honeywell, and Boeing, where responsibilities included driving technology investment strategies, managing development teams, and enhancing inertial navigation algorithms. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of Toledo.
