Mike Pitman

Mike Pitman serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at BSI since November 2020, overseeing global IT and cybersecurity activities for 6,500 personnel across 31 countries, managing a team focused on diverse security domains. Previously, Mike held ownership and directorial roles at MRPSecurity Ltd and served as Head of Security Response & Continuity at BAT. Mike's extensive experience in information security includes positions as CISO at dunnhumby and John Lewis, where significant cybersecurity transformations and compliance initiatives were successfully implemented. Early career roles involved leading information security teams at Adecco, Rentokil-Initial, Capita Life & Pensions Services, and Carmarthenshire County Council. Mike holds a BSc and a PhD in Pharmacology from King's College London and the University of Wales, Cardiff, respectively.
