BSRC Alexander Fleming
Alexandros Galaras is a researcher and PhD candidate at BSRC Alexander Fleming since January 2019, focusing on the identification and functional characterization of lncRNAs related to colorectal homeostasis and carcinogenesis. Previously, Alexandros was a graduate student researcher at the same institution, where the thesis investigated the Wnt-regulated lncRNA WiNTRLINC3 in colorectal cancer. Experience also includes a graduate student intern role at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens, concentrating on proteomic analysis for bladder cancer biomarkers, and earlier internships and research fellowships that provided a foundation in molecular genetics and bioinformatics. Alexandros holds a Master's degree in Molecular Biomedicine from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Patras.
