Darren Johnson

Darren Johnson is currently the Director of Software Engineering at BST Global. Darren has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering field. Darren started their career as a managing consultant at Software Architects from May 1998 to July 2002. Darren then worked as a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers from August 2002 to October 2009. After that, they became the manager of software engineering at ByDesign Technologies from October 2009 to November 2012. As the manager of software engineering, Darren was responsible for a team of fifty plus engineers consisting of local, onshore, and offshore engineers. Darren successfully delivered various client projects, mentored their team, established individual and team performance metrics, developed formal training programs, modified development processes, reengineered internal tools, and collaborated with departmental managers. All of these actions led to significant improvements such as a 45% increase in SLA compliance for support and project estimation, a 43% increase in the ability to deliver projects within approved budgets (which increased revenue/expense margin by an estimated $474k), and a 28% decline in defects identified during the QA process. In November 2012, Darren became the Director of Software Engineering at BST Global where they continue to utilize their expert skillset to lead software engineering teams and deliver successful projects.

Darren Johnson has a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida. Darren is a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute and an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certified by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
