Colin Phillips is an experienced professional in the broadcasting and technology sector, currently serving as a Council Member for the Digital TV Group since July 2023. With a career spanning over three decades, Colin has held significant roles including IPTV & CPE Solutions Architect at British Telecom since November 2010, where contributions have shaped modern TV delivery architectures. Previous positions include Product Line Manager/Solutions Architect at Nagravision, Solutions Architect at Tandberg Television and Ericsson, and Manager of TV Solutions at ntl and Virgin Media. Colin's early career involved pioneering work in video compression at IBA and R&D management at Sony Broadcast UK. Educational qualifications include a 2(i) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton. International experience includes a research stint at NHK Science & Technical Research Labs in Japan, where Colin gained fluency in Japanese and valuable insights into Asian culture.
