Rafael Rocha

Rafael Rocha is a Senior Data Scientist at BTG Pactual since January 2021, overseeing the creation and implementation of various machine learning systems, including a proprietary financial foundation model and intelligent agents. Prior to this role, Rafael served as an IT Analyst focused on personal finance management models, and as a Machine Learning Engineer at RJPS, where geo-referenced models for risk analysis were developed. Rafael's extensive background includes significant research positions at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, contributing to projects involving autonomous robots and financial behavior analysis, as well as collaborations with companies like SulAmérica and Petrobras. Earlier experience includes a Machine Learning Research Internship at IBM, where work centered on financial chatbot development. Rafael is currently pursuing a doctorate in Computer Science at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, which began in 2015.
