Tom McGonigle is the managing partner of the Wilmington, Delaware office at Barnes & Thornburg LLP and a member of the firm’s Management Committee, focusing on complex transactions, regulatory matters, and high-stakes litigation. With over 20 years of experience in both private practice and public service, Tom served as chief of staff to former Delaware Governor Jack Markell, leading cabinet operations post the 2008 financial crisis, and as legal counsel to former Governor Thomas Carper. Earlier in their career, Tom worked as a deputy attorney general handling securities and consumer fraud cases and has held various partnership positions at prominent law firms. Tom is actively involved on several boards and committees dedicated to legal system modernization and regulatory improvements in Delaware.
