Barry Archer has a diverse work experience in the oil and gas industry. Barry began their career as a Junior Geologist at Helix Energy Solutions Group in 2001. Barry then joined Melrose Resources Plc in 2003, where they held various roles such as Petroleum Geologist, Operations Geologist, Vice President Operations, and Country Manager. In 2011, they joined Petroceltic International PLC as an Asset Manager. From 2016 to 2022, Barry worked as a Senior Consultant at a self-employed capacity. In 2022, they became a Director at GA R&D Ltd, a position they held until 2023 when they joined Buchanan as their Director.
Barry Archer's education history begins with their enrollment at Robert Gordon's College, where they completed their schooling until 1997. Some of these certifications include the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, which they obtained in February 2017, and the WellCAP Well Control - Level 4 Subsea Supervisor certification from the International Association of Drilling Contractors, obtained in October 2014.
Most recently, in May 2023, Barry obtained a certification in Data Visualization: Storytelling from LinkedIn.
