Steve Wiechel

As a member of the fixed income team, Steve Wiechel works every day to find transparency in opaque markets, all while staying on top of ever-changing financial conditions like inflation, credit monitoring and moving rates. Sound complicated? Well, for Steve, an unwavering focus on doing what’s right for the client makes the job seem easy.

Steve serves full-time as a fixed income advisor, helping both clients and other Buckingham Strategic Wealth advisory teams develop, implement and maintain a high-quality fixed income portfolio tailored to each client’s specific needs. He also monitors the firm’s fixed positions for any material event, credit down-grades, maturities or bond calls. By overseeing individual portfolios, Steve provides a continued focus on principal preservation and ensures proper diversification.

Steve enjoys collaborating with advisors, clients and prospects to better understand the complicated concepts that will have a tangible effect on their financial lives. And Buckingham’s academically based investment philosophy allows him to put his knowledge to work in the client’s best interests, always.

Prior to joining Buckingham in 2007, Steve served as a financial advisor with Renaissance Financial in St. Louis.

Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and banking from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is currently working towards obtaining his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional designation.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys being outdoors, golf, fishing and travel. He resides in Brentwood, Mo.
