Alona Scott

Head of School at The Buckley School

Alona Scott has been working in education for over 20 years. Alona started their career as an assistant head of lower school at The Brearley School in New York City. After seven years in that role, they became the head of lower school at La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego. After four years in that role, they became the director of middle school at Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York. In 2013, they became the head of school at KEYS Family Day School in Brooklyn, New York, where they served for six years. Alona is currently the head of school at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California.

Alona Scott has a M.Ed from Teachers College, Columbia University in Private School Leadership from the Klingenstein Center. Alona also has a M.Ed in Reading and Literacy from Bank Street College of Education. Alona attended Marlborough School for their undergrad and received an AB in Religion from Princeton University.
