Scott Abel

Scott Abel is a partner at Buddle Findlay, specialising in insolvency and debt restructuring, corporate and secured finance, and personal property security. With extensive experience advising domestic and foreign banks, financial institutions, and insolvency professionals, Scott has a distinguished reputation for expertise in Personal Property Securities law. They have contributed to numerous papers and are a contributing editor to New Zealand's leading insolvency law text. In 2015, Scott became the first New Zealander to pass the INSOL Global Insolvency Practice Course, earning recognition as a Fellow of INSOL International. Scott's legal journey includes positions at major firms such as Slaughter and May and Halliburton, following a BA/LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland.
