Jerry Forton

Director, Amateur Scouting at Buffalo Sabres

Jerry Forton is the current Director of Amateur Scouting for the Buffalo Sabres. Jerry has held this position since September 2016. Prior to that, they were a Development Coach for the Academy of Hockey at HARBORCENTER from April 2014 to September 2016. Before that, they were a Scout for the Dubuque Fighting Saints from August 2013 to July 2015.

Jerry Forton began their coaching career as an Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach at Buffalo State College from September 2011 to April 2014. Jerry then spent one season as an Assistant Hockey Coach for the Buffalo Junior Sabres Midget AAA team in July 2011 before moving on to ComDoc, Inc. where they worked as a Sales Representative from January 2011 to August 2011.

In May 2008, Jerry Forton interned with the Buffalo Sabres Professional Scouting Department until August of that year. This led to him being hired by the team as a Video Scout in December 2008, a position they held until moving into their current role as Director of Amateur Scouting in September 2016.

Jerry Forton obtained their B.S. in Business from Clarkson University and their Masters in Sports Administration from Canisius College.

A direct report to Jerry Forton is and Jason Nightingale - Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting. They are on a team with Cole Burkhalter - Director of Team Operations, Les Bisson - Medical Director, and Jeremiah Crowe - Director of Pro Scouting. Jerry Forton reports to Kevyn Adams, General Manager.
