Cody Tobias

Cody Tobias is the current Director of Finance at Buford City School District. Cody has previous experience as the Assistant Director of Finance from May 2018 to September 2021, and before that they worked as an Audit Experienced Associate from January 2018 to May 2018. Cody also has experience as a System Accountant from January 2014 to January 2018, and before that they worked as an Associate Tax Consultant from July 2013 to January 2014. Additionally, they have interned as a Financial Analyst from March 2012 to September 2012. In this role, they participated in client meetings to form the basis of business operations and history, interpreted and processed audited financial statements and reviewed tax returns to form the foundation of business appraisal, performed financial analysis to determine operational strengths and weaknesses by comparison to industry benchmark metrics and risk factors, applied the income based, market based, and asset based approaches to fundamentals of clients to determine fair market value, and summarized and presented conclusions in a comprehensive narrative report compliant with GAAP standards or Revenue Ruling 59-60 as applicable.

Cody Tobias completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a major in accounting and a minor in finance from Kennesaw State University - Michael J. Coles College of Business. Cody then completed a Master of Accountancy with a concentration in accounting from Shorter University. Cody is also a certified public accountant in the state of Georgia.

Cody Tobias reports to Melanie Reed, Superintendent. They are on a team with Mindy Bayreuther - Chief Security Officer, Dana Maxwell - Director of Student Services, and Vickie Bahr - Director of Transportation.
